Deming police investigating attempted abduction of girl

Attempted Abduction Description

DEMING, N.M. (KRQE) – Deming police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 9-year-old.

The attempt was reported Thursday afternoon near South Platinum and East Apple. Police say the little girl was walking home from school and said a man rode up on a motorcycle and grabbed her by her backpack. The girl says she was able to wiggle free and run home.

Police say the motorcycle was black and grey and the suspect was wearing a black muscle shirt. Officers say they’ve patrolled the area but did not find anyone matching that description.
