Rio Rancho police find 9-year-old boy that was missing

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – The Rio Rancho Police Department has located a 9-year-old boy who went missing Saturday afternoon.

Police said Daniel Trujillo left his home near Southern and Unser at approximately 12 p.m. on Saturday and never returned.

Rio Rancho Police said they received a call from Daniel’s grandmother at 1 a.m. early Sunday morning and immediately began searching the area. Police, along with specialized units from RRPD, and the Rio Rancho Fire Department searched neighboring streets and businesses and had been unable to locate Daniel.

Officials issued a release that stated a preliminary investigation shows Trujillo stayed the night with a friend. They said that he is in good health.
