ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Part of Interstate 40 was shut down for hours due to a suicidal subject.

Both east and westbound I-40 at Wyoming were closed as well as north and southbound Wyoming around 2 p.m. Sunday.

APD said the man was taken into custody around 6 p.m.

The freeway shutdown had to be moved back from Wyoming to Juan Tabo because drivers were encouraging the man to jump, according to APD.

Police said this is the same man who threatened to jump off a bridge onto the interstate before.
