Stretch of I-40 shut down in Albuquerque due to crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Police shut down part of Interstate 40 because of a crash early Saturday evening.

The crash shut down all westbound lanes of the interstate between San Mateo and Carlisle.

Police say a preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle traveling westbound was speeding when it rear ended another vehicle, went into a spin and rolled on it’s side.

None of the people involved in the crash suffered life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the speeding vehicle was arrested and is being investigated for DWI.
