State police cruiser hit by commercial truck while aiding driver

LAS VEGAS, N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico State Police cruiser was struck by a commercial truck early Saturday morning.

A spokesman from state police said that an officer had stopped to assist a driver who had pulled off to the side of the road near Las Vegas. The cruiser was hit be a semi-truck which then hit the motorist who had pulled off to the side of the road.

State police said there were minor injuries but it was not immediately known what the extent of those were.
