Man arrested after allegedly pulling knife on sheriff’s deputies

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– He was calm in court but that wasn’t the case Friday.

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s say they drove up on 43-year-old Ryan Salazar passed out in a stolen car.

BCSO says Salazar tried to take off near Old Coors and Bridge but ended up pulling a knife, and getting into a physical altercation with deputies.

Deputies were forced to draw their guns, they didn’t fire but they say Salazar took off running.

A deputy and Salazar had to be checked out Friday night at the hospital after they say Salazar was resisting arrest.

In court the judge listed off Salazar’s extensive criminal history.
