Sunny and warm weather will continue for most of New Mexico for the holiday weekend, but the storm chances will be on the rise for at least a few areas in the state for the second half of the weekend!
The dryline will set up in the eastern half of the state on Sunday. This will act to trigger the chance for spot storms both tomorrow and on Memorial Day afternoon in places like Clayton, Santa Rosa, Tucumcari, Clovis, Portales, Roswell and Hobbs for the second half of the weekend. There’s a slight chance a few of the storms could be strong to severe producing hail and strong wind. Albuquerque along with most of central and western New Mexico will be dry with warm temps throughout the weekend.
Cooler temperatures and rain chances will go back up for Albuquerque and the eastern half of the state by mid-week as a cold front moves in to the eastern half of the state.
