Chris’ Friday Morning Forecast

A cold start this Friday morning with temperatures 10-15° cooler today compared to yesterday.   So you will need a jacket stepping out the door especially early this morning!  A weak weather disturbance has ushered in cooler air and as it continues to move out of the region spot shower chances will continue across northern New Mexico today.   The showers won’t be widespread but the chance for rain and very light high mountain snow will continue for today.   There’s a slight chance Albuquerque could see a dry, gusty shower later this afternoon.  Outside of that small chance for a gusty shower, Albuquerque is looking mostly sunny, mild and breezy for Friday afternoon.

Drier air works in to central and western New Mexico for Saturday and Sunday.   Extreme eastern New Mexico could see storms pop up on Sunday afternoon along the dryline that will be sitting along the New Mexico and Texas state lines.   There’s a slight chance these storms could be strong or severe on Sunday.  So if you have outdoor plans you will want to keep your eye to the sky and the rain gear nearby.   This chance for some storms in eastern New Mexico will continue into Memorial Day.  But, most of New Mexico will enjoy a warmer and sunny Memorial Day weekend. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
