1 dog stolen from Motel 6 returned safely, 1 dog still missing

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One of two stolen dogs is back home, with police continuing their search for the other one.

Last week, Susan Krouse was in Albuquerque for a dog show when someone stole two of her Boston Terriers from her car at the Motel 6 near Central and Tramway.

Albuquerque Police say a man and his family saw the dogs on the news and called police. They say the bought “Mona” from a man at Central and Atrisco for $100.

Police believe the suspected seller, Lawrence Chavez, dog napped the pair.

APD returned the dog to Krouse last night. Krouse says she tried to give a reward to the family but they refused it.

Police are still looking for the other dog, “Sara” as well as Chavez, who has a warrant out for his arrest.
