Mayor offers $10K reward for info leading to arrests after violent Trump protest

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The mayor announced today a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of the people who incited violence after the  Donald Trump protests, including some that fired shots.

Albuquerque Police Chief Gorden Eden says at least 7 shots were fired near 3rd and Gold. Officers and others ducked for cover but no one was hit and the shooters were not found.

Chief Eden also said every officer who was out there that night got hit by something including fist-sized rocks, bottles and other projectiles.

Bottles were also thrown at police horses. The Albuquerque Journal captured a picture of one horse falling after being rushed by the crowd. APD says it suffered leg abrasions but is doing fine.

APD also says another horse was hit in the eye by something, another was hit with a stick and another was punched. Chief Eden says it was clear the people behind the violence planned it.

The chief also said one elderly woman was hurt by a protestor who dragged her down as they were being arrested.

Police have captured at least 30 people committing crimes on video that they’re trying to identify.
