Bernalillo County Commissioners approve bond for Sandia Peak upgrade

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Bernalillo County commissioners approved $7 million in bonds for upgrades on Sandia Peak on Tuesday evening.

The money will be used for a brand new fine dining restaurant, bistro and bar, plus the installation of a mountain roller coaster.

The internal revenue bonds, or IRB would not be county money. The bond would be sold to investors and the Sandia Peak Ski Company would pay that money back.

The company says they hope to create more than 100 new jobs.
