ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – PNM is holding its annual shareholders’ meeting and local protesters say they’ll be watching.

PNM officials will hold their meeting in Lewisville, Texas.

Protest organizers held a rally in Albuquerque calling for the company to use more renewable energy sources.

Right now, PNM is seeking a nearly 14 percent rate increase for customers. The new rate request would raise more than $120 million. The company says it will pay for investments they’ve made over the past five years.

The state’s public regulation commission is still deciding if they’ll even allow the hike.
