ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – As the temperatures continues to rise it appears the pool problems in Roswell are about to get worse.
As previously reported by KRQE News 13, the city’s only public pool, Cahoon Pool, is closing. City councilors determined it was costing too much money to operate because of its deteriorating condition.
The pool at New Mexico Military Institute is an option for residents, but the school has posted on its doors signs saying there will be intermittent closures at that pool. The cause of the closures is a shortage of lifeguards.
There has been talk about building a new pool in Roswell, but that is still in the early stages.
