John’s Monday Afternoon Forecast

Showers return to New Mexico...

A more active pattern sets up this week! A storm system will drop down from the northwest tonight into Tuesday. This will usher in much cooler air and good chances for showers, especially west and central. Showers will be scattered on Tuesday, then more widespread Wednesday. The Albuquerque metro will have to contend with wind Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning as a back door cold sweeps through. This could shut off rain in the valley during this time.

With cold air coming in, the Northern Mountains will see snow levels drop to 9000′ where 6″ – 12″ of snow will be possible through Wednesday night. The storm will clear out late Wednesday, allowing for more sunshine and a warming trend through the end of the week. By the weekend, afternoon highs will return to above average readings!
