Report ranks New Mexico as worst state for graduation rates

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– A report called “Building a Grad Nation” ranks New Mexico as the worst state in America for high school graduation rates.

It shows about 68-and-a- half percent of New Mexico high school students graduated in 2014.

It also says the state’s biggest challenge is teaching english as a second language.

The report points out that a majority of students that don’t graduate come from low-income families.
