Police: Speed, alcohol likely factors in fatal motorcycle crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – KRQE News 13 has learned from an Albuquerque Police Chaplain that one man is dead after a motorcycle crash early Wednesday morning.

It happened near the Circle K gas station at the corner of McCloud and San Mateo.

Video shows that the gas station was roped off with police tape as officers spent the morning investigating the crash.

Witnesses say they saw a man on a Motorcycle driving northbound on Osuna when he hit a fire hydrant and went flying into a telephone pole.

Albuquerque police say speed and alcohol may be factors in the fatal crash. Police say the motorcycle driver was speeding when he lost control and hit a curb, flying off the bike.

Police are working to notify the family before releasing his name.
