ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (KRQE) – An accused double murderer is back behind bars after a judge revoked his bond. Terrick Thompkins is charged with killing his ex-wife and her boyfriend last year in her Alamogordo home.
A judge set a $240,000 cash or surety bond. Thompkins came up with the required 10-percent and got out to the dismay of the victim’s family.
Prosecutors filed an emergency motion saying the severity of his crimes and prior convictions don’t guarantee him a right to bail. The judge agreed and ordered Thompkins to be taken into custody immediately.
His attorneys argued the move was wrong and they will take their fight to the court of appeals.
