Rio Rancho schools approve new rule regarding drug testing

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – The Rio Rancho Public School board has unanimously approved a rule to create stricter penalties for student athletes who fail drug tests.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, starting next school year, any student athlete who fails a drug test two times will be suspended from their team for the entire season.

Originally, students were only suspended for 45 days.
