Lobo baseball gets swept by ASU

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- The UNM baseball’s trip out to Tempe wasn’t what they hoped for. They lost all three games including a heart breaker on Sunday 1-0.

It was a pitcher’s duel against the Sun Devils on Sunday as Colton Thomson threw a gem and kept ASU on their heels. He went 7 innings with 0 runs, 0 walks, 3 hits, and 7 K’s.

At the end of this one the Lobos only had 3 hits and ASU only had 4, but the Sun Devils got a hit in the 9th when it counted. Victor Sanchez got into some trouble in the bottom of the 9th, and allowed to runners to get on. The Lobos then brought in Alex Estrella who gave up the game winning single.

The Lobos are now 30-16 overall on the season and head to Las Cruces next. They will play the Aggies for the final time this season on Tuesday at 6pm.
