“Being the state winner this year which wasn’t a given, coming through the losers bracket, we get the chance to go and compete against all the other high schools,” said Rio Rancho Coach Dana Miller-Mackie.

The team will be taking on the toughest competition the nation has to offer July 30th-31st, but they believe they have what it takes to be victorious.

“That’s a really good thing about our team is when it comes down to it we know we can fight for it and we are ready to,” said Natalia Tchiloynas.”I think we can pull it off. I am going there to win. I wanna bring a trophy home for New Mexico,” said Carson Opela.

As of now, the team is short on funds to make it out to the tournament, with it costing about $1,200 to send each of the eight bowlers going to the tournament. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
