Chris’ Friday Afternoon Forecast

Rain and snow continue to fall across parts of northern and eastern New Mexico.  Albuquerque will continue with the chance for some light spot rain showers this afternoon with chilly temperatures for this time of the year.   The moisture is thanks to our first storm system that rolled through overnight.   Scattered rain and snow will continue for central and northern New Mexico tonight and into Saturday.

Another storm system will roll in on Saturday evening with a cold front moving into the eastern half of the state.   This front will provide extreme canyon winds out of the east for Albuquerque late Saturday night into Sunday.   Wind gusts could be as high as 60 mph overnight Saturday into Sunday morning especially if you’re very close to the canyons.   The wind will remain strong going into Sunday afternoon with rain across the east and snow around the Northern Mountains.   S

showers and cool temperatures will linger into Monday before things start to warm up and dry out by the middle of the week.
