ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– Thousands of Native American are awaiting their big Grand Entry to this years three day event jammed packed with events.
The Gathering Of Nations is the world’s largest gathering of Native American and indigenous people.
Over 3,000 dancers and 800 artisans, craftsmen, and traders are taking over the Wise Pie’s Arena aka The Pit for the 33rd Annual gathering.
From The Miss Indian World Pageant to performances, food and even a children’s book drive there is something for everyone at this event.
The Spokesperson for the powwow, Jason Whitehouse, joined KRQE’s This Morning team Monday to discuss the upcoming event. The Native Cafe also made a traditional dish. Watch above.
The powwow will begin Thursday, April 28 and will be non-stop through Sunday, April 30.
