SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A notorious drunk driver was in court Friday to answer to his third DWI. Scott Owens pleaded not guilty to DWI and marijuana possession.
Owens was arrested in February after he was found parked in his car near his ex-girlfriend’s house in Santa Fe. When officers arrived, they noticed Owens was drunk.
Police say he had miniature bottles of vodka in his car, a small amount of pot and a pipe.
In court Friday, the state requested his conditions of release to include electronic monitoring and a sobering device and the judge agreed.
Owens was found not guilty for a 2009 DWI crash that killed four teens and severely injured another.
In 2012 he was arrested again for aggravated DWI and speeding.
He posted bond in February for this latest arrest and is not in custody.
A trial date has been set for October 4th.
