CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – Eddy County employees will soon be able to carry concealed weapons while on duty.

County commissioners voted unanimously this week to allow it. It comes with rules and standards set by the county.

The county manager tells the Carlsbad Current-Argus he still wants employees to follow law enforcement standards of using a weapon as an absolute last resort.

Otero County has adopted a similar resolution.
