Chris’ Friday Evening Forecast

Scattered storms will continue to track across central and western New Mexico this evening.   Not everyone will see the rain, but the chance will be there for strong wind and a quick heavy downpour for parts of New Mexico.  The activity will start winding down after sunset tonight.

Another storm system will pass to our north on Saturday afternoon.  This system won’t bring much moisture to the state so instead we are talking about high wind and fire danger to begin the weekend.   The wind will be the strongest across northern New Mexico.   That is where winds could gust as high as 50 mph!   A few isolated storms are possible across the Northern Mountains and into the Northeast on Saturday evening.

By Sunday, temperatures will be cooler with more seasonable high temperatures and less wind for most.
