ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Austin House dreamed about coming home to Albuquerque to play baseball in the front of family and friends. He can now make that dream happen as a member of the Albuquerque Isotopes.
House, who was promoted from double A Hartford to triple A Albuquerque on Thursday, was officially activated for action with the Isotopes Friday.
“It’s actually my dad’s birthday today,” said House. “He told me that that was the best gift I ever gave him. My mom is pretty amped up too.” As of this writing, House was not sure how many family members were going to come out and watch his first game in an Isotopes uniform. He just expected a large number.
House is a relief pitcher and comes to the Isotopes with a 1-0 record this season.
“I feel like I am throwing the ball pretty well,” said House. “The ball is coming out pretty good. My arm feels good. It’s nice to be back in a little bit warmer weather compared to the northeast. It’s been pretty cold up there so hopefully the ball comes out a little bit better.”
House and the Isotopes are on the road for eight games, starting Saturday. The first stop is Las Vegas.
