ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It was Holly Holm night out at Isotopes Park on Saturday, as the Topes hosted the Rainiers. The conditions were wet, but the first pitch went off without a hitch, well kind of.
Before the game Holly gave the media some insight into how she was feeling about the pitch.
“I don’t know what’s gonna happen. I actually tweaked my shoulder in training two days ago. It better make it there that is all I am saying. Accuracy I am not trying to be too prideful, but it better make it there,” said Former UFC Champion Holly Holm.
Well the pitch was just a bit outside, but the cause behind it and the fan support made it all worth it.
“Every time I get to feel this support from the whole community, it’s just awesome. I’m just glad its bringing attention to the charities involved tonight,” said Holm.
All of the proceeds from the auctioned off jerseys are going to the Boys and Girls Club, and if you didn’t get a chance to bid on one of those jerseys there is still a chance to bid online.
The Isotopes did go on to lose though on Holly Holm night 5-3, ending their four game winning streak. The Topes and Rainiers will play again on Sunday at 1:35 p.m.
