Art exhibits on display at Open Space Visitors Center

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A new art exhibit focuses on waste, something we deal with every day. It’s called ‘Remediate’ and it opened Friday at the Albuquerque Open Space Visitor Center.

The show features works related to themes of waste and environmental stewardship, including sculptures and tapestries made from trash.

Artist Cristine Posner also displays seed-embedded sculptures which she says aren’t just for looking at.They actually serve a function, to cleanse the air when the seeds sprout.

Another exhibit called “Strata,” featuring art inspired by the natural world is also up at the visitors center.

Both exhibits run through June 5th.
