Prosecutors to pursue case against New Mexico officer

CORRALES, N.M. (KRQE) – The battery case against a Corrales police officer after a dispute with her son’s teacher is not over, according to prosecutors.

Julie Rogers is accused of shoulder bumping and aggressively shaking the hand of a kindergarten teacher at Bosque Farms Elementary last year.

Rogers had said she was unaware anything happened that day and when the teacher tried to stop her in the hallway, she may have accidentally hit her with her body.

According to the Journal, the case was dismissed in Los Lunas Magistrate Court but prosecutors say they will pursue the case.

The Corrales police chief says he is waiting for the outcome of court proceedings to decide Roger’s future with the department. She’s been with the department for almost a year. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
