New Mexico deputy recognized for saving dog’s life

EDDY COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – An Eddy County Sheriff’s deputy is being recognized for his heroic efforts to save a four-legged friend.

Darren Jones snapped pictures Friday morning of Deputy Trevor Rankin rescuing a black lab from the middle of the road.

The dog almost got hit by several vehicles before Deputy Rankin pulled her to safety.
