Albuquerque Fire Department investigates early morning car fires

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Fire Department spent Wednesday morning trying to battle a fire in northwest Albuquerque. It happened a little before 5:00 a.m. in a neighborhood near Rio Grande and Mountain.

AFD said it was a car fire in a backyard. The homeowner wasn’t home at the time and no one was hurt.

The cause is still under investigation.

Another fire near Chico and Moon also prompted an investigation. A car caught fire under a carport.
