RUIDOSO, N.M. (KRQE) – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is working to figure out exactly how someone started the Moon Mountain Fire.
The Sheriff is now saying the blaze was human caused, but haven’t determined if it was arson.
The blaze grew to 175 acres on top of Moon Mountain. It threatened several homes and Ruidoso High School when it broke out last Monday.
Around 200 crew members fought the fire.
Fire officials say snowfall in the area helped contain the flames.
