ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Nob Hill has a chance to earn a national accolade and a $25,000 prize, but the community needs our vote.

Nob Hill has been nominated in the Main Street Contest by the group Independent We Stand America, which bills itself as being all about small and independently-owned businesses.

Carolyn Chavez, executive director of Nob Hill Main Street, said, “Nob Hill’s just a great neighborhood in Albuquerque. I’ve lived in a lot of cities across the country, and there’s just not really a place like Nob Hill.”

She said if Nob Hill wins the contest, the money will help promote businesses on social media and also improve facades.

“It’s kind of a small town within the city. Lots of local businesses. It’s great shopping and dining services. We kind of have it all,” she said.

Nob Hill has dozens of other Main Streets as competition.
