Local shelter hosts virtual kitten and puppy shower

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – It’s the season for puppies and kittens and one local shelter is expecting them soon.

The Animal Welfare is gearing up for hundreds of orphaned kittens and puppies from now until the end of summer. With new arrivals comes the need for a number of certain items.

Animal Welfare is hosting a virtual kitten and puppy shower from now until the end of July.

Desiree Cawley, from the Animal Welfare Department, joined KRQE’s This Morning team to talk about the shower. Watch above.

By donating items on the department’s furbaby registry, many fragile lives can be saved. Donations can be dropped off at any of the Animal Welfare Department shelters.

Those that may not be able to donate or who would love to help in other ways can also provide temporary homes by becoming a foster parent.
