Thief caught on camera burglarizing auto repair shop

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – He was in and out in less than three minutes. A man broke into Four Wheels Auto Repair over the weekend, and the owner hopes surveillance video will lead to his arrest.

This is the third break-in in three years, owner Nancy Durm said.

“This is extremely frustrating,” she said.

The video shows the culprit drive up in what appears to be a Hyundai Sonata. He takes a rock, shatters the glass and gains entry into the shop near Edith and Montano.

“We’re assuming around 10 or 11 o’clock Saturday night,” said Durm.

He got away with a flat-screen television and several car batteries.

“We’re having an issue with a certain individual right now, and when the cops came out, I told them he’s our number one suspect. Ironically enough he was seen in the area early the next morning just parked here, so I think he sent somebody in,” Durn said, referring to an ex-employee.

The damage and losses are up to several thousand dollars.
