Officials investigating series of fires near Shiprock

SHIPROCK, N.M. (KRQE) – Investigators believe a set of fires over the weekend in San Juan County may have been intentionally set.

On Monday, fire officials were still cleaning up the remains of four fires reported near Shiprock over the weekend. Volunteer crews responded to the first one around 1 p.m. Sunday.

Around 150 acres were burned.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Juan County Sheriff.
