Isotopes ready for the 2016 season

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Isotopes will start the 2016 season on the road Thursday, playing eight games before returning for a their home opener on April 15th.

Last season’s skipper Glenallen Hill returns for a second season, along with pitching coach Darryl Scott. Pitching was a struggle last season as the Isotopes finished with a 62-82 losing record.

The goal is to improve that number this season.

“It’s pretty safe to say that we have a lot of young talent of pitchers that are gunning for an opportunity to be consistent and put them in a position to help the major league club,” said Hill.

The Isotopes have a new face at the plate. Two-time World Series Champion John Shelby has joined the team as hitting coach. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
