Festival honoring both Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – For a decade, one event has been helping to support local artists.

The Kenny Chavez 10th Annual Cinco De Mayo Folk Art and Music festival is scheduled to happen on Saturday, May 7.

The event will feature over 20 New Mexican artists and three bands.

Kenny Chavez and owner of Farm and Table, Cherie Montoya, joined KRQE’s This Morning team to discuss the event. Watch above.

There will also be a Wild Fiesta Apron Contest in honor of Mother’s Day, that will start at 1:45pm.

The festival will be held at 8917 4th St from 9am until 4pm.

This event is free.
