1 dead, 2 hurt in separate car crashes in Farmington

FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) – One person is dead and two others were injured in separate crashes in Farmington.

The Farmington Daily Times reports that the first incident occurred at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday when a vehicle crashed and an occupant of the car died.

No other injuries were reported.

Police have not identified the victim.

A second crash occurred about 15 minutes later a short distance away.

Police say the three-vehicle crash left two cars partially submerged in a ditch.

Two people were taken to San Juan Regional Medical Center for their injuries.

Their condition was not immediately known Sunday.

Police did not say what led to that crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
