ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Roswell Police are investigating a shooting that took place at about 6 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The shooting took place on the 500 block of South Cypress.
Police say there are two victims suffering wounds from bird shot fired from a gun. A 30-year-old man had a stomach injury and a 41-year-old woman had a facial injury. Both were taken to the hospital.
Narcotics use is believed to have been a factor in the incident.
A 33-year-old male, Jonathan Jeter, was originally detained for questioning but was later arrested and charged with aggravated battery in relation to the shooting.
