ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – KRQE News 13 has learned Jon “Bones” Jones turned himself in Tuesday morning. He was arrested and booked into MDC and charged with violating his probation.
Just last Wednesday a judge told Jones he needed to stay out of trouble for 90 days. It didn’t last more than a day.
Jones is still serving an 18-month probation for a 2015 hit-and-run crash.
Then in January, he was pulled over on Alameda after a sheriff’s deputy clocked Jones going 40 mph over the speed limit.
Last Thursday, an officer stopped Jones accusing him of drag racing, but Jones denied breaking any laws. Jones was slapped with five citations including drag racing.
The owner of Jackson Wink Gym where Jones trains also commented, saying he was “disappointed in the situation and hope Jon learns from this.”
Jones’ legal team released the following statement on Tuesday afternoon:
Jon and his team are taking this very seriously and we will let the legal process play out. We are confident he will be released once he has an opportunity to explain to the judge the facts in this case.
Jones is currently being held without bond. Probation and parole say they have five days to submit a violation report.
The UFC released a statement saying they were aware of the situation and is in touch with Jones’ legal team. Right now, Jones is still scheduled to fight next month.
