La Cueva beats Carlsbad in Sal Puentes 4-1

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – On paper it was the best matchup in day one of the annual Sal Puentes Memorial Tournament at Rio Rancho High School.

La Cueva went on to defeat Carlsbad 4-1 after a stellar performance from starting pitcher Johnathan Stroman. Stroman went the distance only giving up one run on two hits.

The Bears found their runs late in the game getting three runs in 5th and one run in the 6th.

La Cueva now moves on in the Sal Puentes to play Cleveland at 4 p.m. Games once again will be played at Rio Rancho High School.
