Lobo baseball completes series sweep over San Jose State

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- The Lobos defeated the Spartans in game 3 of their 3 game series on Sunday 11-1. The Lobos are now riding a 5 game winning streak after their home series sweep over San Jose State.

This game started out as a defensive battle with only 5 total hits and no runs going into the 4th inning. It wouldn’t be until the bottom of the 4th that the Lobos would get on the board off a Jack Zoellner sacrifice fly. That would be all the Lobos would get in the 4th, but that opened the flood gates for the rest of the game, as UNM went on to get 1o more runs and finish with 15 hits.

Senior pitcher Colton Tomson also had a great outing for the Lobos, as the starting pitcher got the win going 8 full innings, giving up just 4 hits, and 0 runs.

The Lobos are now 13-6 overall and 5-1 in conference play. They now head to Lubbock, Texas to take on Texas Tech on Tuesday at 5:30 pm.
