Chris’ Sunday Evening Forecast

Fire Danger will be on the rise with high wind, drier and warmer than normal conditions in place across the entire state this week.   An area of high pressure begins to build over the region as we begin the week.  This will boost temperatures back into the 70s and 80s for parts of New Mexico for Monday.

The wind will be breezy tomorrow afternoon, but they’ll only intensify on Tuesday.  These increasing wind speeds will elevate the Fire Danger.  The critical fire weather conditions for the middle of the week will all be thanks to a storm system that will be passing to our north.   Wind gusts could be as high as 50+ mph.   The wind will remain strong into Wednesday as cooler air starts to work back into the state.   Highs will be 10-20° cooler by Thursday afternoon. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
