Albuquerque police investigating shooting involving security guard

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – – Albuquerque police are investigating a shooting that took place early Saturday morning.

APD says that at about 5:50 a.m. police responded to 2300 12th St. regarding shots fired. Police say that a preliminary investigation indicates that a security guard for the Holiday Inn Express confronted a male that was breaking into a car. The male offender brandished a weapon and approached the security guard. The security guard then fired his weapon.

The suspect is currently at the hospital in stable condition and is facing numerous felony charges.

The security guard was interviewed and released.
