State Police: Plane crashes near Española, 2 dead

ESPANOLA, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police says they were handling a plane crash near the San Juan Airport near Española Friday night.

It happened at about 4:30 p.m. A small, single engine plane crashed in New Mexico.

State Police did say two people were confirmed dead and there were no survivors on board. The victims have been identified as 46-year-old Karen Ann Young and 47-year-old Thomas Spickermann of Los Alamos, N.M..

Young is believed to have been the pilot.
