LAS CRUCES (KRQE) – New research conducted by a New Mexico State University student could help predict dust storms sooner.

The graduate student analyzed dust data for a four year period, including when dust events occurred and their pressure patterns.

Her findings are expected to provide a tool that will better help forecasters determine whether a dust day will as much as a week in advance.
