SANTA FE (KRQE) – A New Mexico soldier killed in action was buried Monday at Arlington National Cemetery.

Staff Sgt. Matthew McClintock, 30, was born in Albuquerque and died last month while serving in Afghanistan. He was a Green Beret and at the time of his death was serving with the Washington State National Guard.

A memorial service was held in Albuquerque earlier in March but his family chose to have him buried at Arlington instead of in Santa Fe.

McClintock leaves behind a wife and an infant son.
