The weather becomes more active this week as a storm system slides just south of New Mexico late Monday into Tuesday. Though the track on this storm is not ideal, it will do a good job of pulling moisture into the state from the Gulf of Mexico. This will allow for a decent chance at showers and storms across the state with the south and east favored. The higher elevations will see accumulating snowfall.
The east facing slopes and eastern plains will be favored for snow and rain as a cold front moves in during the day Tuesday. The storm system will continue to keep the east in the mix for showers through the latter part of the week as it slowly moves eastward.
