IHOP celebrates National Pancake Day for a good cause

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – One of the tastiest days of the year happens this Tuesday and IHOP is using the event to raise money for an important charity.

National Pancake Day is Tuesday, March 8. On this day, IHOP restaurants give free pancakes out to guests in exchange for a monetary donation of any amount towards Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Larry Lewis from IHOP and Diana Martinez with the UNM Children’s Hospital, joined KRQE’s This Morning team to talk about the charity. Miss New Mexico, Marissa Livingston, and Miss New Mexico Teen, Sasha Butcher, also joined in to make pancakes. Watch above.

IHOP locations in Albuquerque and throughout the state of New Mexico will be participating in the celebration of this national day. Albuquerque locations will stay open until 10 p.m.

The money raised will go directly towards supporting New Mexico’s one and only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, the UNM Children’s Hospital in Albuquerque. Last year, National Pancake Day in New Mexico raised approximately $31,000 for the UNM Children’s Hospital.
